Our friend Jon Hernández, from Kube Studio in Barcelona, recently sent us his latest film, The Elders. This beautiful short film chronicles the Haenyeo, a group of elder woman on the island of Jeju in South Korea, who freedive ten meters in search of shellfish.
Working in extremely inclement and stormy conditions (it rained on 9 out of the 10 shoot days!) Jon and his team used Think Tank Rotation Backpack Series throughout the production. Jon said the team loved the packs and having quick, easy access to their gear in wet and precarious locations, often shooting on the shore and scrambling over rocks, made all the difference.
Speaking of movies and the Rotation Backpack Series, we wanted to send big congrats to Charley Voorhis on the success of his action-sports feature documentary, Project Pivot.
Currently out on the film festival circuit, Project Pivot explores what happens when a skateboarder, a mountain biker and a rock climber are dropped into each other’s sport to discover what drives them, what scares them, and what they all have in common. Charley and the crew used our Rotation backpacks throughout the making of Project Pivot, as they carried gear deep into the woods of the Pacific Northwest in search of the best climbing routes and single-track trails.
