In the world of haute couture, the skills of the fashion photographer and his or her team of stylists shape the trends for buyers of a wide range of products.
In this fast-paced environment, image is everything, and the eye of the photographer is the key to success. We asked Toronto fashion photographer David Hou to share some photographs and describe his lighting technique for PHOTONews readers. David is a fashion and theatre photographer from Toronto, working worldwide both in studio and on location. His fashion career began ten years ago when he routinely tested for modeling agencies. Today, his focus has shifted toward editorial fashion and campaigns. David’s prestigious theatre and dance clients include: National Ballet of Canada, Canadian Opera Company, and Stratford Shakespeare Theatre. you may have seen David’s work in the finest fashion magazines – his recent projects include: stills photography for Shaftsbury Films, the Franco Mirabelli Campaign, a portrait of Atom Egoyan, the Cargo Cosmetics Campaign, Persona Jewelry Campaign, Classic Creations Jewelry Campaign, and Fashion China editorial. David is represented by Digitagent in Paris, France.
