On April 23rd at a virtual awards gala for the Professional Photographers of Canada Association, Canadian Photographer Kristian Bogner won 2 presigtions awards. He has won Commercial Photographer of the Year for Canada with the Professional Photographers of Canada Association.
This is the 4th time Kristian has won this award. At 45 years old Bogner also received the Yousuf Karsh Lifetime Achievement Award. This is one of the highest honours in Canadian photography. Kristian’s is very proud to share this award with his Dad, a fellow Master Photographer who won it in 2006 and with the other 18 prestigious photographers who hold this title.
“My Dad has not been well the past few months and it was very special for me to be able to tell him that we share the Karsh award. He lit up when I told him!”
A few days after these awards Bogner was off to Rome, Italy to represent Team Canada at the World Photographic Cup with Michelle Vallberg, Deborah MacEwan and Jacquie Matechuck. Kristian won a bronze medal in the 2020 Reportage category but with COVID the awards were postponed. So WPC made a very special combined 2020, 2021, and 2022 awards night in Rome, Italy!
“It was incredible to see all of the winning images and experience being on Team Canada while receiving my medal by the WPC committee in a beautiful ceremony here in Italy. I have met so many world class photographers from countries all over the world and had the opportunity to meet with the committee and organizers and learn more about this organization and how it brings the world together through the lens of great photography.”
