Indoor Wildlife

I wanted to practice using my studio light, which I don’t tend to use too much, so I decided to set up a shoot with a friend’s cats. They were wonderful subjects and much easier to photograph than I expected. All it seemed to require was a pheasant tail feather, which I found while hiking, and a bit of help from my friend, who waved the feather around to amuse the cats. I wanted to mimic the light coming in from the window, so I placed my light off to the side so that the light would feather across the front of the cats. I used a reflector to bounce light from the opposite side.

Viktoria Haack is originally from the UK and has been a resident of BC, Canada since 2007. Viktoria is heavily influenced by the beautiful environment that surrounds her.
