It is the third day of our Costa Rican expedition. Grey clouds postpone our Rio Celeste photoshoot. We shift gears and turn toward the Tree of Peace; what does not work for the river is perfect for a rainforest.
The rain abates while leaving a glistening reminder of its presence on the jungle’s foliage. We unload our chair, tripod, backpacks, and umbrellas. Arbol de la Paz stands tall and monumental with its staggering height and girth. We put our hands on her bark and feel her energy pass through our bodies.
We set our tripod near its lowest setting, its legs intertwined with the tree’s roots. We shoot low and wide, our frame bursting with the tropical flora that call The Tree of Peace home. Connected to nature and to each other, we capture a moment 600 years in the making.”
