Thousands of ladies gathering in the mud for a good cause. Celebrating women’s strength couldn’t get any better.
I’ve had the pleasure to collaborate for a second time with MUDGIRL RUN, an obstacle race dedicated to women. My work as a photographer there basically comes down to two things:
- Highlight the strength of women
- Show what the race’s all about. (In case you haven’t figured it out… it’s about MUD. And then more MUD.)
I thought that would be fun to share with you my favorite top three pictures of the weekend! Here’s what I like about them.
The deep dive
To me, this is really a WOW moment. Not all women have plunged into the mud pool but this one REALLY went all the way! I was ready to take some great shots but this pic is as much about preparation as it is about luck and perfect timing… I guess that’s why I like it so much!
The slippery slope
This photo perfectly symbolizes the mutual aid and the pleasure of the participants on the course. Mountains of slippery mud, tons of laughter and lots and lots of fun!

The celebration
A giant slide symbolizes the end of the 5km course (that’s what wee see in the background). These young women celebrate by dancing towards the finish line. We can see their complicity and their pride. From an artistic point of view, I love the pink dominant in the image, symbolizing the color of the MUDGIRL RUN and their #pinkarmy .
The freedom to be yourself
These races emphasize the strength of women and their individuality. This mentality also includes all those who contribute to its success, from volunteers to crew members. I would like to thank the organization for their trust and for allowing me to be myself and do my job the way I like to do it. I felt empowered, trusted, inspired and recognized. It brought out the best of my craft and I’ve been able to create wonderful pictures for them. And that, my friends, is worth all the gold in the world.
