Metz has just released a new firmware update for the 58AF-1 and 48AF-1 that now allows these flashes to be used in Servo mode.
Servo mode allows the flash to be used off camera without the need for a wireless TTL commander flash. In Servo mode, the flash disregards the pre-flash and syncs with the main flash from either a built in flash or another off camera flash. It’s important to note that the flash exposure is manual when in Servo mode, but the output of the flash can be adjusted from the flash itself.
